Heritage School provides a distinctive classical and Christ-centered college preparatory education that prepares students for servant-leadership and lives that glorify God. The Heritage graduate strives to exemplify Jesus Christ, to think critically, speak articulately, write effectively, pursue learning for his/her lifetime, and persevere in all that he or she endeavors to do. Believing that the parents are ultimately responsible for their children's education, Heritage is committed to forming a working partnership in which the school and parents actively support each other in academics as well as character formation for each child. Heritage School uses methods of teaching based on a three-tiered approach known as the Trivium, proven effective for centuries. Our teachers integrate faith and learning by teaching all subjects with a biblical world view and are role models of life-long learning and Christian character. The goal of this rigorous, academically rich training results in graduates who are able to learn independently because they have gained the tools for learning. Service and Christ-like character are of paramount importance to both parents and faculty. Heritage School, a nondenominational community which agreeably embraces multiple Christian churches throughout the area, was established in 1994 to serve the children in the Texas Hill Country.

Ambleside is a nonprofit private Christian school for the Hill Country, committed to setting the standard for practice in Charlotte Mason education and establishing a resource and seedbed for educators and schools. Our long-term goal is to create a global Ambleside community of schools united in the practice of Ambleside education. Ambleside provides a broad and varied curriculum of inspirational and disciplinary subjects, through direct encounter with literary living books and living art, music, science, mathematics, geography, language, nature, and handwork. We offer small classes, minimal homework in the elementary school, and noon dismissal for lower primary grades. No standardized tests or letter grades are used. Our main pedagogical method is written or oral narration. Twice yearly essay exam periods are an important educational tool at Ambleside. An opportunity for students to bring forth and show what knowledge they have attained, exam time is a call to synthesize and summarize, master and make sense of main ideas and facts, while developing the child's competence in clear thinking and verbal expression. At Ambleside, all children participate in the broad curriculum-all children calculate, solve, attend, explore, ponder, recite, paint, and sing. We strive to offer students the richest materials along with our highest expectations of what they can accomplish. We expect every student to learn and grow to full potential as a person, born in the image of God, into a vast inheritance. Ambleside School admits students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.
