Do You Want to
Become More Active in the Community? Then
Leadership Gillespie County may be for you!
Since the graduation of its first class in 1994,
the program has developed into one of the most sought
after learning experiences in Fredericksburg and
Gillespie County. And as any alumni will tell you, the
networking and the friendships last far longer than
the nine-month curriculum.
Leadership Gillespie County was established by the
Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce and Gillespie
County Economic Development Commission knowing that in
our fast-paced world there is a constant need for
developing and nurturing leaders for our community.
Our alumni base is now over 200 individuals with
many actively involved in an array of community
activities or organizations. If your intent is to know
more about your community and find ways to help you
give back to your community, than Leadership Gillespie
County is for you.
The program outline consists of a mandatory two-day
Leadership Retreat in September followed by a monthly
one-day session through the following April on a
particular area of focus. The monthly sessions are
normally held on a Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30
p.m., which allows you the flexibility to check in
with your workplace before and after the session.
Applications are accepted in June and July.
The tuition is $350 ($300 for Chamber members),
which covers the entire program including your
graduation dinner. While we consider this a very
worthwhile investment for you, we do have a limited
amount of partial scholarships available should you
need assistance.
If you have any other questions or would like an
application, you can contact the Fredericksburg
Chamber of Commerce or at 997-6523 or via e-mail at
president@fbgtx.org.
Better yet, contact any of our alumni and let them
tell you about their Leadership experience.
Sincerely,
Mike Weberpal
