We wish you a hearty German-Texas welcome from the heart of the Texas Hill Country!
We are proud of Fredericksburg, Texas and Gillespie County and its unique history, as well as the giant strides in progress the community has taken since its founding in 1846. The Chamber, started in 1922 as a progressive businessmen’s league, has played a vital part in the development of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County.

Now, 150 years later, we believe it would be hard to match our community in education, health care, quality of life and activities for both young and old. We are convenient to major airports yet are nestled away in the Texas hills, away from urban congestion.

We started as an agricultural community and have kept that heritage and are known as the “city of steeples” for our large list of houses of worship and religious denominations.

Our quality of life encompasses excellent education and health care facilities, superb police and fire protection and emergency services and a Texas Hill Country environment that abounds in recreational and relaxation opportunities.

Over the last 25 years tourism has taken a giant step forward and is now a big part of our economy, yet we work hard to maintain a balance of a thriving tourism industry vital to our economy and a rural cultural heritage that adds to our quality of life.

Our rich soil provides us with an active agriculture industry and we work to balance our economy with a thriving manufacturing segment and continue to work in attracting high technology industries.

Our offices offer a number of services for existing businesses and potential businesses as well as relocation assistance. The Chamber’s Convention & Visitors Bureau is active in promoting the many attractions in the area and the Gillespie County Economic Development Commission is ready to help you with your business needs.
