The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce is announcing some exciting changes to its annual Chamber Lighted Christmas Parade, to be held December 7 at 6:30 p.m. on Fredericksburg's historic Main Street. For the first time in the city's history, designated seating areas will be available to parade watchers. "We have contracted to provide 416 bleacher style seats in front of the Pioneer Memorial Library," said Chamber President & CEO Penny C. Reeh. A restroom and handwashing station will the located adjacent to the bleachers. Tickets may be purchased at a cost of $15 each or in business blocks that include branding opportunities.

This year the Chamber of Commerce will kick-off the parade with a musically-choreographed Laser Light Show. "The Chamber is pleased to add this visual enhancement to our traditional parade. During the roughly 12-minute show, the beautiful lights on Marktplatz will go dark, but come back to life as the lasers act as a magic Christmas fairy's wand," said Reeh. The show will take place on the 100th block of West Main, just prior to the launch of the parade at the intersection of Main and Crockett Streets.
Following the launch at Crockett Street, the route will head eastward to Washington Street and then turn around and head westward down Main Street. The parade will end at Acorn Street.
