Time: 7:00 PM

Event Description:

Come to Pat's Hall in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas on Thanksgiving Friday night (November 23) to dance off that turkey and dressing and extra helping of Grandma's pumpkin pie. We'll have Darrell and Mona McCall and Justin Trevino to keep your feet moving! Heck -- bring that whole houseful of company.

Darrell McCall was a regular at Pat’s Hall during the 60s, 70s and 80s. Born in and raised in New Jasper, OH, Darrell began his musical career by landing a slot as a Saturday morning DJ on a local radio station when he was 15 years old. Around the same time, he was playing local dances and events as a musician. Following his high school graduation, he joined the Army, where he was stationed in Kentucky. After his tour of duty was completed, he and his childhood friend Johnny Paycheck moved to Nashville in 1958. Darrell and Johnny attempted to record as a duo, but they were unsuccessful. Eventually, Darrell became a studio harmony vocalist, singing on records by Faron Young, George Jones, and Ray Price among others. In a short time, the studio work metamorphosed into road work, as he played bass and sang harmony for several different touring bands, including those of Young, Price, and Hank Williams Jr.

By the time Trevino hit his early teens, his father started persuading local club owners to let his son get up and perform. Justin landed his first professional gig at 13, and by his freshman year in high school, he had formed his own band, Justin Trevino & Sunset Country. In 1990 Justin routinely performed at Harry Weiss' Red Eye Saloon in San Antonio Texas. It was there at the age of 16 he met and performed for the first time with his hero, Johnny Bush. The two struck up a life-long friendship. Trevino would later work for Johnny Bush as a Bandalero from 1994-2003. He split his time during these years, also playing bass for Don Walser, Cornell Hurd and Darrell McCall while maintaining his own band.

Tickets are available online at PatsHall.com and at the door. The dance is in the hall from 8 p.m. until midnight, and the doors open at 7 p.m.
