The public is invited to attend the Spring Concert of the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras on Saturday, May 18, 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Fredericksburg.
The program is free and will include individual and group performances by musicians and students under the direction of Theresa Britt.
The Advanced Youth Ensemble starts the program with Canon in D, by Guaraldi.
The FCO String Orchestra then plays the following:
Concerto No. 9 in A Minor (Mvmt. I), DeBeriot
Espana Waltz, Emil Waldteufel
Over the Rainbow, Harold Arlen & E.Y. Harburg
Sea Songs, Ralph Vaughan Williams
Following the group performances, the FCO Suzuki Violin, Cello, and Viola students will present their recital pieces.
The public is invited to stay and enjoy refreshments after the concert.
The FCO Summer Strings Half Day Summer Camp will take place June 10-13, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. Cost is $95 per student.
The ending performance will be on June 13 at Luckenbach, TX, as part of a fundraiser for FCO. At that concert, the orchestra and a quartet will perform classical and fiddle tunes in an outdoor and informal concert setting, and host a barbecue dinner.
