Let’s go to Luckenbach Texas – birthplace of the Country Outlaw Music of Willie, Waylon and the boys. Established in 1849 as a trading post, the littlest ‘town’ (pop. 3) boasts the biggest moon and still has the post office-general store-bar in use today. The eighteenth century dance hall, named “the Best in Texas”, hosts dances every weekend. Usually a festival every month, like Hug-In or Return of the Mud Daubers, and open 7 days a week, 363 days a year. Luckenbach is famous for the laid back state of mind of folk hero Hondo Crouch and impromptu music played daily. Luckenbach is an eclectic mix of its early history and great Texas music that brings all together. As “Mayor” and Imagineer Hondo always said, “Everybody’s Somebody in Luckenbach!”
