The GMS Industrial Supply and American Patriot Family of Companies is expanding! We are looking to grow our manufacturing and administrative teams as we prepare to move our current facility in Willow City, TX to Fredericksburg, TX. We are looking for hard-working, capable individuals with a variety of skills sets that are looking to join our team and grow with the company.
BUILDER POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a builder, you will be responsible for assisting our manufacturing team in converting shipping containers into usable portable buildings for the U.S. military. Carpentry experience is encouraged but not required; we provide on-the-job training to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks. Higher compensation will be considered for candidates with verifiable carpentry experience (professional references from previous supervisors).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fit pre-framed containers with duct board style insulation
Hang plywood sheets (similar to hanging sheetrock)
Finish work to include: sanding, caulking, and grinding
Mount specialized equipment inside the containers, including: eye wash stations, smoke detectors, and racks/shelving
Help other departments as necessary (painting, electrical, welding)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Punctuality
Fluent in English
Willing to undergo a background check
Willing to work overtime, as necessary
Physical stamina (lifting, bending, able to work in extreme temperatures)
Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail
Previous carpentry experience encouraged
Experience with the following encouraged:
Miter saws, table saws, Skil saws
Orbital sanders
Angle grinders
Hanging drywall and trim
Framing
Paint prep (tape and paper) and painting (gun, roller, brush)
Caulking
Sanding
Running electrical wire
Hanging conduit
Wiring plugs and switches
Wiring panel boxes
Mounting light fixtures
Welding and metal Fabricating
