Job Description

Cook for daycare center. A cook in a childcare center plays a crucial role in supporting children's health and well-being through proper nutrition. Their duties typically include:

1. Meal Planning and Preparation
Plan and prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks.

Follow dietary guidelines and portion sizes suitable for children.

Accommodate food allergies, intolerances, and special dietary needs.

2. Health & Safety Compliance
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.

Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., proper food storage, handwashing, cross-contamination prevention).

Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly.

3. Record Keeping
Keep daily records of meals served.

Maintain documentation for food allergies, meal counts, and food temperatures.

Monitor and manage food inventory, including ordering supplies.

4. Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with childcare staff regarding meal times and dietary needs.

Communicate with parents when needed about children's dietary requirements.

Participate in staff meetings or training sessions when required.

5. Support During Mealtimes
Sometimes assist with serving food or helping children during mealtimes, especially in smaller centers.

Hours are Monday-Friday 7am to 3pm .
