Job Description

As a Materials Runner, you will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks, such as picking up and returning materials to suppliers, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, and ensuring timely and efficient runs for materials that impact production lines. Candidates for this position must be punctual, honest, professional, able to operate a pickup truck with a trailer (including backing up a trailer safely and accurately), and be in good physical condition to lift and move materials. Materials Runner candidates must also have a working knowledge of securing/transporting loads per TX DOT regulations, and knowledge/familiarity of tools, fittings, and electrical parts.

Pay for this position starts at $18.00/hr and depends on experience.

To help our effort to support the Warfighter, we are hiring a motivated Materials Runner in the Willow City, TX and Fredericksburg, TX area. Pick up and return materials to suppliers
Locate and select appropriate tools, fittings, and electrical parts from local suppliers
Load and offload materials from trucks and trailers and properly brace and strap loads without damaging materials
Safely drive on the highway with a fully loaded trailer
Load trailers and transport to the dump or metal recycling
Inspect materials orders for damage before accepting/transporting
Keep track of and submit receipts, invoices, and/or scrap metal proceeds daily
Maintenance of the company truck and trailers, including cleaning and fueling, as necessary
Maintain an accurate trip log
Assist the team with other duties or projects, as needed

High school diploma/GED
Fluent in English
Good communication and organizational skills
Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting, climbing ladders and trailers, able to work in extreme temperatures)
Ability to lift 70-100 lb.
Ability to operate and become forklift certified
Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
Willing to undergo a background check
Ability to operate a pickup truck with a trailer in both forward and reverse
Willing to work overtime, as necessary
Basic math skills
Knowledge of manufacturing/construction tools and materials
Ability to work effectively, by yourself and as part of a team
