Feeling Grateful

By Jim Mikula, President/CEO

Last week the Chamber held its annual golf tournament, and we are very grateful!

Grateful to Fredericksburg Chevrolet GMC for being the tournament’s title sponsor this year.

Grateful for our Golf Tournament Chair Kyle Kulda, VP Arrowhead Bank, and his dedication to making the Golf Tournament a complete success. From the player experience to the very impressive premium prizes he solicited for the raffle. The combined value of the premium prizes is nearly $25,000:

• 250 Gallon Smoker Pit built by FISD Ag Science Students underwritten by Weaver Technologies, Wade Dittmar, Texas Farm Bureau, Stroeher & Son/Stroeher & Olfers, Inc., Searchers, Magnolia Pearl, Laughlin Homes & Restoration, and Arrowhead Bank

• Pro 575 Traeger Grill donated by AJ’s Liquor & a $250 Gift Card donated by H-E-B

• Fire Pit donated by Hill Country Propane & a 125Q Kodi Cooler donated by H-E-B

• Henry Brass Lever Action .45-70 and Pelican Gun Case donated by Fredericksburg Trade Days and Kneese Companies

• 3-night stay in Port Aransas donated by Clear River Ice Cream, Bakery & Deli

• Fredericksburg Framed Print donated by Summer House formerly Home Simple Goods + Design

• Green Egg Grill and Smoker donated by Biedermann’s Ace Hardware

• $500 in custom steaks and $500 gift card donated by Opa’s Smoked Meats

• Cast Iron skillets donated by Fredericksburg Cast Iron and Custom Bowie Curvetooth knife by Hill Country Outfitters

• Vineyard Table for 4 and a case of wine donated by William Chris Vineyards

• Echo EGi-4000 Generator donated by Ewald Kubota

Grateful for the FISD Ag Science Students who built the 250-gallon smoker pit and trailer - a great example of how the business community can collaborate with FISD to create unique learning experiences for our students.

Grateful for Augusta Vin hosting the Fun After Five the evening before the tournament, which was our largest of the year and helped us set a record for pre-tournament raffle ticket sales. Augusta Vin also sponsored the players’ reception after the tournament.

Grateful for the volunteers who set up at 6:30am, delivering tables to each hole for the hole sponsors and then returning after the tournament to pick up the tables.

Grateful for Hill Country Titles sponsoring the players’ breakfast. Event after event we can always count on Hill Country Titles to be a sponsor.

Grateful for the 21 businesses that donated products and gift cards for the raffle.

Grateful for the hole and putting green sponsors. Many of the hole sponsors provided beverages and food to keep the golfers nourished and offered the proper “swing juice.”

Grateful for 120 golfers who played on a humid day.

Finally, grateful to be trusted to lead this amazing organization. Our Chamber’s members do so much for our community, and always with humility.
