Candidate Forum

All six candidates for Fredericksburg's City Council will participate in the Chamber's Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 7, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be streamed as a Facebook Live event, and available for on-demand viewing.

"In the 10+ years the Chamber has hosted a Candidate Forum as an in-person event, the attendance was less than 100 people. During the pandemic, we moved to a virtual presentation and were pleasantly surprised by viewership which topped 9,600," said Chamber President Penny C. McBride. "Given the opportunity for this extended reach and the ability for our members and their employees to view the event at a time convenient to their work schedule, we have decided to try the virtual format again."

The Forum is designed to help Chamber members and the community at large hear the candidate's ideas, positions and opinions on a broad variety of community issues and concerns. Questions will be posed by a moderator with the goal of offering an unbiased and non-partisan opportunity to learn their perspectives as a candidate.
