Job Description

City Accountant – Responsibilities include assistance in the recording of general ledger
transactions, performing account reconciliations, preparation of financial reports, and
providing financial analysis and support for the annual budget and audit processes. The
candidate must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.

Master Electrician - Duties include maintenance of City owned wells, pump stations,
lift stations and wastewater treatment plant, electrical installation and repairs at all
city owned buildings, assistance with utility construction and other miscellaneous
tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of six years
in electrical operations, Master Electrician’s license issued by Texas Department of
Licensing & Regulation, and Class B commercial driver license. For information contact

Apprentice Arborist - Responsibilities include mowing, tree trimming,
tree care and replacement, herbicide application, erosion control,
street sweeping, and drainage-related capital improvement projects.

Electric Lineman Helper – Entry level job learning and performing basic aspects of
the trade, learning how to work with energized high voltage distribution lines, assist
with construction, maintenance and repairs on electrical overhead and underground
distribution system with the expectation to advance to Lineman within five years. For

Staff Engineer – This position will perform civil engineering design work, direct
and monitor construction projects/programs, and maintain the City’s Geographic
Information System (GIS). Additional related work will be required with broad and
general oral or written instructions and methods for accomplishing tasks will be at
the discretion of the employee. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related
Engineering field, and certified Engineer in Training, or ability to obtain within 12 months

Part-time Crew Worker - Responsibilities include a variety of maintenance work at City owned park grounds, open spaces, recreation areas and facilities. Most of this position’s
time will be spent at Marktplatz. Employee will work approximately 25 hours per week.
Hours will include Sundays and Mondays from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm with other weekend,
holidays and evening hours depending on events schedule.

Seasonal Lifeguards - These will be part-time positions and minimum age for
employment is 15. Training for Lifeguard certification will be held at a later date

Part-time Medics – Responsibilities include responding to emergency calls using
specialized medical protocols, equipment and supplies, writing detailed reports,
transporting patients, checking ambulance, equipment, and medications. All levels of
EMS will be considered; however, Paramedic certification is preferred.
