You love visiting Fredericksburg, so why not enjoy our lifestyle year-round? We need workers in all industries! Check our our segment on CBS Austin to learn more about living and working in Fredericksburg!

Living in Fredericksburg is truly the best of both worlds. It’s a place of rich heritage and deep-rooted traditions where one still knows their neighbor.

Diverse employers, both large and small.

Not many would think a town of just more than 12,000 people would be home to a Baldrige Award-winning hospital, several dozen physician offices, seven precision machine shops that produce parts for the aerospace and oil/gas industries, several specialty food makers behind the labels seen in stores across the country and nearly 30 wineries and vineyards that have become an internationally-known wine appellation. But you will find all that and much more right here in Fredericksburg!

A healthy climate for business.

Fredericksburg’s economy is strong and has remained stable even in periods of state or national down-turn, thanks to tourism and emerging diversity as a business community. But don’t take our word for it, let the numbers do the talking:

Sales tax receipts have increased between 4.5 and 10 percent for each of the last five years, representing a total growth of 43%!  And because of our ad velorum reduction measure, these tourism-fueled revenues lessen property taxes for all residents.

Since 2010, lodging receipts, a significant barometer of the performance of our tourism industry, have grown by 62%.

Real estate sales have steadily recovered since the recession and 2016 marked a banner year with more than $383 million in total MLS-reported sales.

Tucked away, but close to everything.

Nestled in the gentle hills and beneath the dark, starry skies of the Texas Hill Country, you may never want to leave. But the conveniences of the city, including access to two international airports, are just over an hour’s drive away.

Work hard, play harder.

Recreational and leisure opportunities abound in Gillespie County. Our excellent park system – municipal, state and national – offers access to sporting, skateboarding, camping, hiking, fishing, rock climbing and historical learning.

Fredericksburg is quickly becoming a nationally-recognized arts community with a vibrant collection of galleries and a diverse mix of performing art.

We take the spirit of celebration to new limits with multiple festivals each and every weekend. From perennial favorites like the Gillespie County Fair and Oktoberfest to seasonal celebrations like the Stonewall Peach JAMboree and Light The Night Christmas Parade, there is never a dull moment.

The shops, museums, wineries, breweries and live music venues delight both visitors and locals alike. Finding something to do is never a problem in Fredericksburg!
